Quick answer

After selecting an audio or video through Choose a file, choose the spoken language and Fast or High, then start transcription. Keep the app open while it works. Replay the discussion before writing decisions or action items in your notes. The app does not identify speakers or assign tasks; you check who said what against the recording.

Which recording should I use?

Ask the organiser for the complete recording you are meant to work with, rather than a meeting invitation or playback link. Save the audio or video locally and check the opening and ending. For an in-person meeting, agree how it will be recorded and test that the phone can hear everyone before the discussion starts.

How do I turn the meeting file into text?

Choose a file accepts local audio or video. It does not capture a remote call or connect to a meeting service. Have the engine ready before a long session, then keep the app open during transcription. A warm phone or a lengthy discussion can increase the wait.

  1. Check that the full recording plays on the iPhone.
  2. Open Choose a file, select Files and choose the recording.
  3. Open Transcript when processing has finished.
  4. Review names, figures and passages where several people speak together.

How do I check a decision or an action item?

Scroll to the relevant passage and tap a word to replay it. To search by word, export DOCX or TXT and use Find in your document app. Listen to enough discussion to distinguish a proposal from an agreed decision: “we could send it Friday” is different from “I’ll send it Friday.” Write down who agreed to do what and by when. If that is still unclear, leave a question to follow up.

What should I share with the team?

Keep the reviewed transcript as your reference and write concise meeting notes separately. Add speaker names and any playback times you need in that working document. Use DOCX for editing or PDF for reading. Highlights can select original passages and Clean read can rewrite text on eligible Apple Intelligence setups; check their wording against the actual decisions before sharing.

Questions you may have

Will the app join my next Zoom meeting?

No. Use a recording file that you already have. The app has no meeting bot or direct Zoom connection.

Will it identify every participant?

No. Add names manually after checking the voices. Paragraph breaks do not establish who spoke.

Does a rewritten copy replace meeting minutes?

No. Review the actual decisions and commitments yourself. A readable rewrite can still change wording or omit context.

Can I import a video recording?

Yes, through the local file picker. The app uses its audio; keep the original video if you need shared-screen content.
